Hello, I'm Franz...
…and I’m now 21 years old, which happened faster than I expected. The past three years I’ve spent studying at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig), where I’m pursuing a bachelor degree in Media Informatics. For my studies, I moved to the big city, settling in the vibrant district of Connewitz. Contrary to some stories I’d heard before moving, I’ve found it to be a very friendly and open-minded neighborhood. During this time, I’ve not only deepened my academic knowledge but also developed important skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.Recently, I decided to move back to my hometown for personal reasons. It has been a nice change of pace, allowing me to reconnect with family and old friends, and to enjoy a quieter lifestyle while still focusing on my studies. I plan to complete my Bachelor’s degree in the upcoming winter semester 2025/26, and I’m looking forward to this next chapter. Outside of my studies, I share my life with my cat, who keeps me company and adds a lot of joy to my daily routine. I also love spending time outdoors, especially hiking in nature, and I try to stay active through various sports whenever I can. Looking ahead, I haven’t decided 100% yet what the future holds, but I’m very interested in continuing with a Master’s degree to build on the knowledge and skills I’ve gained so far. I’m excited to see where this journey will take me and what new opportunities I will encounter along the way.

Projects
Software Project
This project focused on building a digital platform for the Leipzig Science Network that combines a central news portal with an event calendar. The news portal streamlines the publication process by automatically collecting press releases from partner institutions. Selected articles are highlighted as “Top News,” translated into English using AI, and can be manually reviewed to ensure quality. Alongside this, the event calendar provides a clear overview of upcoming activities across the region. Events are automatically added if they meet defined criteria, while authorized users can easily create, edit, or remove entries. The design emphasizes clarity, usability, and accessibility—ensuring that visitors get an attractive overview while institutions benefit from simplified internal planning. The project was carried out over two semesters, with a workload of around 300 hours per person. By integrating automation and AI services, the platform not only reduces manual effort but also improves visibility and communication within the scientific community of Leipzig.
View projectPortfolio
This project is my personal portfolio website, designed to present myself in a clear and structured way. The site consists of four main sections: an About Me page introducing who I am, a detailed CV/Milestones section highlighting my academic and professional experience, a Projects section showcasing my work with images and descriptions, and a Contact area that allows visitors to reach out to me directly. The portfolio aims to provide a professional yet personal overview of my skills, experience, and achievements. It also serves as a central point of contact for potential employers, collaborators, or anyone interested in learning more about my work. By combining text, visuals, and interactive elements such as sliders and a responsive layout, the website creates a modern and user-friendly presentation. The project helped me deepen my knowledge in HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript, while also focusing on aspects such as usability, responsive design, and clean code structure. Looking ahead, I plan to extend the site with additional features and continuously update it with new projects and experiences.
